Everything Tripkit can do, in plain English. Tap any card to expand it.

Create a trip with a name, destination, and (optional) dates — or join one a friend sends you with an invite link. Tap any trip to open its planning board. Use 🔗 Invite your gang to share the link with the group.

Add tasks to the board and assign each to a person. The owner moves it across To do → Doing → Done; add a due date so nothing slips, and set dependencies when one task has to wait on another. The board defaults to My tasks so you land on what's yours, with All and Overdue views a tap away.

Once every task is done, the board turns into a readiness dashboard — a snapshot of how ready your trip really is. You can open it any time, even mid-planning, with the ✨ Trip readiness button on the board, and switch back just as easily.

At the top, a readiness score from 0 to 100% blends four things, each weighted:

  • Tasks done — 35%
  • Packing — 25% (how many of you are fully packed)
  • Expenses settled — 20%
  • Itinerary — 20% (days that have a plan)

If something doesn't apply yet — say you haven't added any expenses or dates — it's left out and the rest are rescaled, so the score always reflects what you've actually set up.

Your open items lists just what's left for you — packing you haven't ticked off, money you owe, tasks on your plate, and polls you haven't voted in — and each one taps straight through to the right place. Below it, a breakdown shows Tasks, Packing, Expenses, and Itinerary at a glance, each tappable.

Put a cost on a task, or add a standalone expense, and note who paid and who splits it. Tripkit tallies the trip total, your share, and everyone's balance for you.

Open 💰 Finances to settle up — choose “fewest payments” or “pay each payer,” record a payment, copy a plain-text summary for the chat, or nudge someone who owes you. You can also log private personal expenses only you can see, and a spend-by-category chart shows where the money went.

Plan ahead: on the 💰 Finances screen, open Budget vs actual to set a target amount for each spend category — stay, food, travel, activities, and so on. Anyone in the trip can set or adjust the budget — it's a shared plan.

As real expenses come in, each category fills a bar showing spent against its target: green while you're under, and red when a category goes over budget, with the amount you're over. A summary up top shows total budgeted, spent, and what's left. The actual numbers come straight from your expenses — nothing to update by hand.

The 🗺️ Itinerary button opens the day-by-day builder: add places to each day with an optional time window, and Tripkit shows the weather for each stop. Mark a place open to suggestions so friends can 👍/👎 it, or lock it in as 🔒 non-negotiable. Trip files like tickets and bookings live on this page too.

Got an idea for the trip — a restaurant, a hike, an activity? Float it on the ✨ Wishlist. Add a title and (optionally) a date and time, and the whole group up- or down-votes each idea.

Once an idea has upvotes from more than half the group and a date and time, anyone can tap Add to itinerary to drop it straight onto the day-by-day plan. If that time slot is already taken, Tripkit says so — just change the idea's time, or clear the clashing itinerary entry, and add it.

Quiet board? Tap 🔔 Ping everyone to nudge the group to come vote (once every 24 hours).

Every trip has a live chat. @mention a person, or use @all / @here to ping everyone. React with emoji (long-press a reaction to see who reacted), swipe a message to reply, and share photos (they auto-delete after 24 hours). A red dot flags trips with new messages.

Settle a group decision with a quick vote — dates, food, activities. Create a poll as pick one or pick many, and everyone votes with a tap. Press and hold an option to see exactly who voted for it. The poll's creator can “Rally the voters” to nudge anyone who hasn't voted yet.

Jot down things the whole group should remember — passports, who's driving, what to book. Any member can add a note.

Keep a checklist of what to bring. Each person ticks off their own items, and you choose whether an item is shared (the whole group sees it) or private (only you can see it — handy for your own passport, chargers, meds).

Can't choose? Open ⚖️ Decider, drop in 2–6 options, and it picks one at random with a little spin and confetti. It keeps a Recent decisions history (collapsed at the bottom) so you can re-share any past verdict to the chat later.

Trip gone quiet? 👉 Poke sends the whole group a friendly nudge notification about the trip. You can poke once every 24 hours (it'll tell you when you can poke again).

The bell at the top shows what needs you — task assignments, comments, replies, mentions, chat, and due-date reminders. Turn on push notifications in Settings to get pinged even when the app is closed. On iPhone, add Tripkit to your Home Screen first.

Star up to two trips to keep them pinned at the top of your trips list, no matter their dates — handy for the trip you're actively planning.

On a trip page, tap the ••• menu, then ⚙︎ Customize to pick up to four action buttons to keep on top — the rest tuck away under the menu. Saved per device, so your phone and laptop can differ.

Tap the gear by a trip's name to set your own colour for it. The trip lead can also set a shared colour, a currency symbol, and an emoji for the trip — and appoint a co-lead as a backup who can help manage things.

In Settings, pick an emoji display picture, a theme (Light / Dark / System), and an accent colour. You can also choose whether trip cards show the money line and progress bar. These are saved on this device.
